Five-minute arcades for the daily commute
A commute is a strange place to play. You get interrupted, the signal drops, and you have one hand free at best. The best arcade games for it are the ones that let you stop instantly and pick up right where you left off.
Blossom Blast Lane is my current favorite for this. Its levels are short, it works fully offline, and it never punishes you for closing the app mid-round. That last part is more important than it sounds.
Look for games that autosave aggressively and don't gate progress behind online checks. Nothing kills a good level like a 'connection lost' screen when you go through a tunnel.
My rule of thumb: if a game needs more than my full attention or a stable connection, it stays off my commute list. Save those for the couch.
