Pleinair Online
Pleinair Online surprised me. I expected another busy online map full of markers, but it opens with a quiet valley and a sketchbook, and it lets you wander at your own pace. You tap to move, hold to run, and swipe to look around; on a phone that all feels natural after a minute or two. There are no confusing menus stacked on menus, which is rare these days.
The core loop is gentle exploration. You visit locations, capture scenes in your sketchbook, and meet other players who are doing the same thing. Cooperation is optional and never forced. I spent one session just following a river because I liked the light, and the game never punished me for it.
Performance was solid on a mid-range device, with only a couple of hitches when a busy hub loaded in. The soundtrack is soft and easy to have on in the background. It is not a game about winning anything, and that is exactly why it stuck with me.
